Kings Cross Development
The Kings Cross development has been going for over 10 years on site. It is one of the largest redevelopments in London covering 67 acres. It includes up to 25 large, new office buildings totaling some 4.9 million sq ft, 20 new streets, 10 new major public spaces, the restoration and refurbishment of 20 historic buildings and structures, and up to 2,000 homes and serviced apartments.
The developer King’s Cross Central Limited, which included among others Argent LLP and London & Continental Railways, made sure that sustainability is in the heart of it as planned by Camden Council.
Aquality has worked with many consultants such as SWECO, Hoare Lea, Waterman, Hilson Moran, ARUP to design state of the art non-potable water systems mainly rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling. Aquality provide and installed the systems for contractors such as BAM, SES, Kier.
With the current 8 systems installed savings of up to 17,000m3 per year of mains water.
